well lets start out with the black album he stole the name and concept from Metallica( greatest band of all time) because the Black Album Metallica created in 1991 was there biggest album, and jayz knew this would be his biggest album so y dub the name.
Then Jayz's movie fade 2 black was also a rip off of metallica biggest the majority of fans say fade 2 black is there best song. IMO Jayz stole these names with out givin ne credit to metallica.

he aint got to give credit for s***, its a whole bunch of songs that got tha same name and its a whole bunch of albums that either have the same names or something similar. music is music, it aint about names or any s*** like that, its about the message. i could see if jay wuz spittin bout tha same s*** metallica wuz singin bout. also, like hussein said, I aint hear metallica say s*** bout him naming his cd the black album, or his movie fade to black. so if metallica didnt have a problem with it why tha f*ck do u. get tha f*ck outta here f*ckboy. And also, Jay-z listens to a wide variety of music and maybe he wuz a fan of metallica, and got inspiration from them. read up on yo history young'n, all great musicians get inspiration from other great musicians.
